DUSTIN LOWE

“Hecho en Mexico”.

That’s one way to describe Texas country recording artist, Dustin Lowe.

Lowe wasn’t actually “made in Mexico” even though he was born there while his mom and dad were traveling on a business trip, officially making him a dual citizen! However, Lowe is all Texan and all Cowboy. He has been a lifelong resident in the Hill Country of Bandera, also known as “The Cowboy Capital of the World” where he houses his pet pig, a large herd of goats, and other assorted livestock on his DLF Ranch.

Lowe was raised in a musical home, so his love of it came naturally. His father was a professional Jazz pianist in the ’50s and ’60s in Austin, and his Grandmother also contributed to his passion for music when she gifted him piano lessons in his early years . However, it was the guitar his uncle bought him when he was twelve that changed his musical direction, and his roots in the country genre were planted. Lowe later worked wrangling horses at a local dude ranch where he began performing for the guests. He was so well received that he started his own bands to play the local dancehalls in the area.

Lowe grew up listening to artists such as Texas legends Adolph Hofner and The Pearl Wranglers and George Strait, as well as, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and many others. From there he pursued his love for creating original tunes based on influences by his songwriting idols including Willie Nelson, Gary P. Nunn, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Kris Kristofferson.

Lowe eventually developed a songwriting style all his own and was recognized as another talented songwriter alongside local peers such as Arkey Blue, Lore Orion, Charlie Robison, Bruce Robison (who has penned multiple number one songs), and current producer/co-writer, Grammy Award winning Bobby E. Boyd.

In an earlier part of his career Lowe recorded with Calvary Productions in Brackettville and later in Bulverde, TX under the direction of the late Bobby Flores who won a Grammy for his fiddle work. Lowe also toured extensively in Texas, and played shows from Australia to France where he grew a large fan base who have remained dedicated to his music and career.

In recent years, Lowe and Boyd reconnected and began writing and recording again for his 5th studio album to be released later in 2025.

The first single from that project was a Christmas tune called “Don’t Smoke The Mistletoe”. It had a great run at radio in 2024. The next tune up is another fun song entitled “Shake Your Copenhagen”, and is sure to be a radio and dance hall favorite.

Stay tuned for more!!!…..
